These
forums are meant for the enjoyment of all those who visit, and to aid in this
pursuit, these rules are enforced:
No hardcore profanity, specifically, words with four-letter
stems that begin with 'f' or 'c'. Inappropriate/excessive use of other expletives
will also not be tolerated.
Explicit sexual references or references to sexual acts
will not be tolerated.
In order to help with the above, language filters are
in use. Use of alternative characters, phonetics, special characters etc is not
acceptable. Violation of this rule will not be tolerated, and will lead to the
language filter becoming more comprehensive and restrictive.
No personal attacks on other members. Disagree with
their points of view you may, but using this as justification for questioning
parentage, sexual orientation etc. will not be tolerated.
Please take some care in typing your messages, as a
reasonable ability to spell is expected.
The use of abbreviations that promote laziness (U, r,
L8r etc) is not acceptable, but standard internet abbreviations (AFAIK, IMHO etc)
is acceptable.
Try to construct your sentences: the use of proper English
grammar will be looked upon favourably.
These forums are owned by giles-guthrie.com,
but posters shall be liable for their own posts, so copyrighted material, and
libel/slander etc is at the poster's risk. That said, any posts flagrantly in
abuse of common laws will be amended/deleted at the sole discretion of giles-guthrie.com
appointed moderators.
You may not use these forums to post any information
pertaining to, aiding, abetting or facilitating any form of illegal activity,
including, but not limited to, providing information on how to perform illegal
activities, such as copyright violation, piracy or other theft. Also, be aware
that you are posting on a public forum and that it may therefore be foolhardy
to post information relating to any illegal act that you may have witnessed or
participated in.
You will, if requested, participate fully in any legal
investigation relating to anything you or another member has done whilst participating
in the giles-guthrie.com
forums.
Posting confidential information relating to another
member without their express permission will not be tolerated. Confidential information
is any information that cannot be obtained by viewing a user's profile page.
These forums are not public domain, therefore giles-guthrie.com
appointed moderators have sole discretion regarding creation and application of
these rules. Changes to the rules will be announced in the General forum, it is
up to members to remain appraised of the rules at all times.

rules are here to protect the members and the forums. In the vast majority of
cases, enforcement will be subtle and need not affect the membership. Ultimately,
the members have a moral obligation to the forums, to ensure that they are a
welcoming place for all.
